The result of yesterday’s OMO auction further strengthened the Bears today as bearish sentiments dominated the market the entire week.

The All-share index lost 0.18% today to extend the week’s loss to -1.66%.

Today’s loss brings the year-to-date performance of the market to 3.57%.

Market capitalization weakened by 0.18% to close at N21.82 trillion. Investors lost a total of N368 billion during the week.

The Banking index gained 1.36% to lead while the Consumer Goods Index trailed with 0.97% on the indices chart.

Total volume traded fell to 482.32 million units (-23.38%) with total value of N5.58 billion (-30.09%).

UBN (78.23m units) and Zenith (52.78m units) led the volume chart while Zenith (N1.37 bn) and MTNN (N0.86 bn) led in value terms.

Today, the market recorded 14 gainers and 37 losers (Thurs: 25 against 22).

NNFM and GTB appreciated while Dangote Sugar and WAPCO lost today.

McNichols (+43.14%) finished best performer while Linkage Assurance (-33.33%) finished worst for the week.
