Daily Stock Market Scorecard, 1st February 2021

The All-Share Index (ASI) fell marginally to start the new month. Trading commenced on a positive note with UACN in early lead, late on, Nestle lost 3.65% to pull the ASI down by 0.13%.

Today‚Äôs loss brings the year-to-date performance of the market to 5.18%.

Market capitalization fell by 0.13% to close at N22.16 trillion as investors lost N28.65 billion.

The Insurance Index gained 0.37% to lead while the Consumer Goods Index trailed with -1.03% on the indices chart.

Total volume traded declined to 586.94 million units (-12.40%) with a total value of N6.02 billion (-8.61%).

UBN (79.59m units) and TransCorp (61.76m units) led the volume chart while Zenith (N0.86 bn) and Nestle (N0.79 bn) led in value terms.

Today, the market recorded 35 gainers and 28 losers (Friday: 29 against 25).

SEPLAT, MRS Oil and Dangote Sugar appreciated while Julius Berger and Flour Mills also lost today.
