Trading commenced on a positive note with gains inspired by corporate actions and anticipations. Losses to Stanbic, WAPCO, and Seplat erased the early gains to close the All-Share Index with a marginal decline of 0.06%.

Today‚Äôs performance expanded the year-to-date loss of the market to -0.21%.

Market capitalization fell further to N21.03 trillion, as the market lost -0.63% week-on-week.

The Banking index led with 1.95% while the Insurance index trailed with –1.83% on the indices chart.

Total volume traded reduced to 307.79 million units (-27.80%) with a total value of N2.91 billion (-38.84%) to close the cotton on a quiet week.

FBNH (85.58m units) and UCAP (53.32m units) led the volume chart while FBNH (N0.62 bn) and Zenith (N0.43 bn) led in value terms.

Today, the market recorded 18 gainers and 20 losers (Thurs: 10 against 30).

AfriPrud, UCAP and Zenith appreciated while Seplat and Stanbic lost.

United Capital (+20.27) finished as the best performing stock while Consolidated Hallmark Insurance (-28.26%) finished worst for the week.
